Where do we begin with Derek Blasberg? As Editor-at-Large of Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine and VMAN, he’s a style seeker and party circuit bon vivant. Never without his sense of humor and always at the nucleus of the cool crowd—he counts Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne as dear friends—Derek gives us a glimpse of his very fun, very busy Fashion Week.

Where do you stay when you’re in NYC?
My apartment is in Tribeca. It's quiet and polite there, which are two things I am not. So it's a good change of pace!

What’s your favorite Michael Kors piece in your closet?
Michael once sent me a hooded zip-up sweatshirt with a fur lining! It's the most luxe, comfortable, cozy and decadent thing in my closet.

Oops, I already did. In four words. Bonus!

What are your bag essentials for NYFW?
I'm a boy, and although some of my fellow male fashion editor friends like to carry a man-bag, I like to be light. So I shove the invites in a pocket and get by with a wallet, phone and house keys.

What’s your favorite thing about a Michael Kors show?
Everything! Multiple exits, a pulsating soundtrack, BOYS—and there's always a touch of the American Dream, which I love so much.

Where will you head for lunch after the show?
It's a busy week for me, so I eat on the go.

Where do you go for a dose of culture?
The Met is still my favorite museum in the world, though I wish I visited it more often since I live here.

Do you have any special plans for Valentine’s Day?
It's Fashion Week, so romance won't be dead, but it will be work this year.
