BEHIND THE SCENES:
MICHAEL KORS RESORT 2014
NEW YORK CITY — Michael Kors presented his Resort 2014 Collection this week—a line imbued with the optic impact and glamorous spirit of Palm Springs. “It’s a season I love, and a lifestyle I love,” he said. Taking into account Resort’s variable temperatures and occasions, Kors offered up inspired versatility: tailored jackets, flared trousers, lace shorts, oversized and fitted knits alike, graphic cut-out swimwear and Lucite accessories (inspired by California furniture designer Charles Hollis Jones).
Proclaiming that the midi is back, Kors introduced color-blocked skirts and sleek tops as a sporty alternative to warm-weather dresses. “It’s all about elongated silhouettes,” he said. Ending on a classic note, his evening gowns went for high-impact elegance: long sleeves, floor-grazing hems and head-to-toe embellishment.
