An assistant buyer in retail—and our in-house opera buff—who describes her style as “refined, functional and modern.” (Seriously, we can't figure out how she always looks so perfect!)

What is your signature look?
A form-fitting Michael Kors sheath paired with short hair and manicured nails—painted red always!

What are your summer essentials?
Whether I’m in New York City or traveling, on the weekends I live in striped tees, linen tops and denim shorts. And my Michael Kors duffle bag is always with me. It’s been to more than a dozen cities within the last year.

Who inspires your fashion sensibility?
New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham. His approach is so humble and modest, yet he exudes a joie de vivre and passion for his work. We could all learn a little something from him—regardless of where you happen to work.

Fashion aside, what do you love most about your apartment?
My aubergine leather couch. It was my first “big girl” purchase after moving to the city—and it’s been a fixture in all four of my East Village apartments (no matter how many flights of stairs it had to be carried up).

Describe your most memorable style moment.

Actually, every day is memorable. I love getting dressed in the morning. Sometimes I’m really excited about a new accessory—a shoe, a scarf—and I’ll build my entire look around that one item. I never repeat the same exact outfit twice. Boring is unforgivable!

What have you learned from Michael Kors the man?
Less is more!

How has living in the East Village influenced your look?
My neighborhood is terrific for secondhand shopping. There are dozens of consignment and vintage shops here, like Tokyo Joe’s and Cadillac’s Castle. I’ve picked up some of my favorite vintage Michael Kors Collection pieces at these very shops!

What do you love about living in New York City?
Those ‘only in New York City’ moments. I recently went to the Met to see the final performance of “Manon” by myself. The show was completely sold out, because it was closing night, but I managed to nab a single ticket 20 minutes before curtain call. It was such an incredible experience.

It’s Sunday afternoon, where might we find you?

Catching up with a friend over brunch at Northern Spy Food Co. or Five Points. When I have the kitchen space, I love cooking for friends. Fashion and feeding are my two passions in life.

How does Jeannie manage to look so effortlessly pulled together all the time? It’s simple: She picks pieces that never go out of style. (If only we had the nerve to copy her fabulous haircut…)
