I’ve always been drawn to the beach—and St. Barth’s is my favorite place for a quick winter escape. Its blend of French roots and Creole culture give the island plenty of personality and a distinct vibe: European elegance meets tropical ease. From great cuisine to the best shopping, here are my musts for a weekend in paradise.

GO
…spend the afternoon at Saline Beachturquoise water, white sand and a gorgeous crowd. Heaven!

SEE
…sunset at Shell Beachsuch a serene spot to watch the sun go down. It’s even better with a rum punch from Dõ Brazil in hand.

EAT
…lunch at Le Tamarina St. Barth’s staple. It’s built around a giant, hundred-year-old tamarind tree that grows in the middle of the garden patio. You can lounge in a hammock hung from its branches while you wait for a table.

…dinner at Maya'sit’s fabulous and it’s right on the water. The menu changes daily and always wows me.

SHOP
…for a canvas tote at Loulou’s Marineit’s in Gustavia, the island’s capital. While you’re there, browse the incredible antiques for sale at The House, then grab a burger at Le Select. They say it’s the inspiration for Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”

BRING BACK
Ligne St. Barth’s Roucou Tanning Oilthey make the best natural sun products, always elegantly packaged.
