I’ve always been drawn to the beach—and St. Barth’s is my favorite place for a quick winter escape. Its blend of French roots and Creole culture give the island plenty of personality and a distinct vibe: European elegance meets tropical ease. From great cuisine to the best shopping, here are my musts for a weekend in paradise.
…spend the afternoon at Saline Beach—turquoise water, white sand and a gorgeous crowd. Heaven!
…sunset at Shell Beach—such a serene spot to watch the sun go down. It’s even better with a rum punch from Dõ Brazil in hand.
…lunch at Le Tamarin—a St. Barth’s staple. It’s built around a giant, hundred-year-old tamarind tree that grows in the middle of the garden patio. You can lounge in a hammock hung from its branches while you wait for a table.
…dinner at Maya's—it’s fabulous and it’s right on the water. The menu changes daily and always wows me.
…for a canvas tote at Loulou’s Marine—it’s in Gustavia, the island’s capital. While you’re there, browse the incredible antiques for sale at The House, then grab a burger at Le Select. They say it’s the inspiration for Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”
…Ligne St. Barth’s Roucou Tanning Oil—they make the best natural sun products, always elegantly packaged.
