WE HELPED FIGHT GLOBAL HUNGER THIS WORLD FOOD DAY
WE LIT UP TIMES SQUARE
On October 16, as part of our worldwide “Watch Hunger Stop” campaign, we partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to mark World Food Day. Fans came out to Michael Kors stores around the globe—in New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro—to help raise awareness, purchase our specially designed 100 Series watch and make donations to WFP.
Our street teams handed out free “Watch Hunger Stop” T-shirts at six select Michael Kors stores, where fans took pictures in our special photobooths and had their GIFs streamed to 12 digital billboards in Times Square. Thousands of you joined the universal conversation by tagging your own photos with our hashtag, #WatchHungerStop. (Keep on posting! We’ll continue to stream your images to WatchHungerStop.com/Billboard through the end of the month).
Check out all the images on our special site here.
A TEE-RRIFIC CAUSE
Thousands of you got in on the action by wearing and sharing your “Watch Hunger Stop” T-shirt and 100 Series watch images. Here are some familiar faces that we spotted out and about in our design.
ON THE SCENE
From Tokyo to Berlin, Michael Kors stores were flooded with people committed to the fight against world hunger. Notable German fashion blogger “Josie Loves” (Sarah Eichhorn) swung by the Rosenthaler Strasse store to greet people, while sales associates styled customers in aviator sunglasses for their photobooth experience. Fans at the Rockefeller Center flagship got the ultimate surprise—a special visit from Michael Kors—who took pictures with shoppers and posed in the photobooth with Russian fashion blogger and “It” girl Miroslava Duma.
World Food Day has passed but our work isn’t over. You can continue to make donations at all Michael Kors stores in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan through the month of October.
